THIS IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. THERE ARE LOCAL CONTRACTORS TELLING ME THAT THEY CAN DO IT CHEAPER THAN WHAT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS ASKING.

Johnson Controls together with A&E were selected through a competitive process to lead the design and construction of the building projects. Johnson Controls will open bidding to local contractors and others in the area, using documents prepared by its team, to obtain the best value for the district. This process will allow those local contractors to bring economy to the project. The amount of the referendum is the maximum amount to be borrowed and if the work can be accomplished for less, the district will be able to borrow less or offset debt service.

The district’s first interest is to the community at large. We have used a competitive process to select Johnson Controls and they will use a competitive process to select the contractors to do the work. This referendum is focused on providing cost effective and quality education for many years to come.
