Washington Middle School

I just wanted to inform you that there was gas smelled in the office at Washington Middle School. The building was evacuated to ensure that everyone was safe. Both MDU and the Fire Department were called. There was no gas detected anywhere when investigated. I want to thank the building administration and staff for taking immediate action and keeping our student's safety their number one priority. As is standard protocol, we will take precautions like this when we think that our students could be at risk. We will continue to try and inform everyone as soon as we are able in these types of situations. Thank you!

We just want to inform you that we have found a sewage line break at Washington Middle School under the south part of the building. This line is an original sewage line that has been in place since that part of the building was constructed in the 1930’s. The break is not affecting the entire building, just the south part. Due to the break, we can not use the restrooms, sinks or drains on any of the floors on that part of the building. We have relocated multiple classes because of the smell to those rooms. The Glendive Fire Department has assured us that there is no safety risk for our students/staff to continue our regular operations. We DO have functioning bathrooms and sinks in other parts of our building and the kitchen was not affected by this leak. Lastly, we have had to cancel our pre-K classes for the remainder of the week until this issue is resolved or we can set up another part of our building to accommodate their needs. We will be continuing to work through this issue and hope to have everything back to normal operation as soon as possible. We will continue to try and keep everyone informed about these types of situations. Thank you!

The winners of the school wide Geography bee are: 6th- Keaton Wergin, 7th- Riley Phipps & 8th- Korbin Lantis. The school champion for the 2nd year in a row is Loren Voss! I had the privilege of working in WMS kitchen today helping out with the duties of staff member of the month Karla Miller. It was such an awesome experience to see what they do everyday to feed Washington and Jefferson students. HARD WORKERS! Proud they work at our school! All funds from this fundraiser go directly back into the WMS fundraiser account that funds our BLITZ days and other giveaways for students. WMS Boys basketball schedule for 2019. GO DEMONS!!! #WMSDEMONS

7/8th girls basketball and wrestlers need to bring their uniforms/equipment/practice gear to school on Wed, 12/19 and turn it in after school. The coaches are not WMS employee’s and are taking time off away from their jobs to come to the school and get the equipment checked in. It is vital that players are there after school on 12/19 to get the stuff turned in. If this is not possible, please contact the coach and make other arrangements to get the equipment turned in.
